Famous for its Swords and Antique in ASAKUSA Seigadou-Shimizu
Seigado Shimizu first started in Chiba prefecture and Otamagaike, Kanda city.
Our business was started with samurai families just by laying matts on the ground in front of our home.
At first we sold calligraphy, Japanese seal carvings, braziers, and tansu (Japanese style closets).
As we began to buy and sell retired samurai equipment we started to appraise swords, while still selling calligraphic works and antiques.
Later in 1949, at our house in Ichikawa Chiba, we held a Japanese sword exchange meeting for the first time since the war had ended. It was also after the war that we returned to Asakusa.
Please feel free to consult with us anything about antique art, swords, calligraphy, modern crafts, armor, and other fine art.
